Summary

  • Deletes 45 #![cfg(any())]-quarantined files from tests/raw_coverage/ (about 36k lines that compile to nothing), after checking each against live coverage. Five held unique assertions; four of those are restored and pass, one still needs a partial port.
  • Removes tests that duplicate vendor-library tests, plus confirmed dead code.
  • Repoints vendor submodules at open upstream PR branches that carry code and tests moved out of this repo, and removes the OpenHuman copies they make redundant: the flows graph-error locator, the tool helpers (collapse, deferred, command_output, the canonical adapter, required_output, the JSON-schema helpers), and the message splitter.
  • Net: 143 files, +183 / −44,314.

Problem

  • 50 files under tests/raw_coverage/ were switched off by #![cfg(any())] under Migrate raw-coverage fixtures to the hosted TinyAgents public API #6382 and never ran. They inflated the tree, and docs still cited some of them as evidence.
  • Many OpenHuman tests exercise code that already lives in a vendor/tiny* library, so they duplicate the vendor's own tests. CLAUDE.md says behaviour belongs in the owning repo.

Solution

Quarantined files (#6382). Five reviewers each read a group of ten files and traced every scenario to a live test, or found the code it drove already moved. 45 were duplicates, obsolete or padding and are deleted. Dangling references are fixed (scripts/test-rust-with-mock.sh, comments, two README notes, matrix row 1.3.5).
Five held coverage nothing else has, and four are restored by removing the cfg(any()) line: automation_scheduling_e2e (8 tests), billing_cost_e2e (7), notification_platform_e2e (9), agent_orchestration_e2e (9). That gives the hooks RPC namespace, cron run history, billing cards and coupons, and agent_team_* their first RPC-level coverage. Two small fixes were needed: a stale announcement mock payload, and billing_cost_e2e now binds the process-global cost tracker to its own workspace so it no longer depends on which test booted first.
skill_runtime_e2e.rs stays quarantined; only part of it is worth porting.

Duplicate tests. Each deletion was compared with the vendor test's scenario and assertions. Where OpenHuman asserts an error string and the vendor only asserts is_err, the OpenHuman test was kept. Removed: the tool-call parsing tests, worktree_tests, most multimodal marker tests, part of todo_tests, tools/schema_tests.rs, tests/ollama_lifecycle_e2e.rs (with its [[test]] entry), voice/streaming_tests.rs, most of voice/postprocess_tests.rs, the provider wire/header tests in inference_provider_e2e, the model-list parsing tests, and most of mcp_registry_e2e.

Dead code. tools/policy.rs (unused DefaultToolPolicy) and the legacy Langfuse batch exporter span_export.rs (production exports through otlp::push_spans).

Pin-dependent removals. Each OpenHuman copy was compared with the vendor code actually checked out and removed only where the vendor carries the same behaviour:

  • flows/: migrate_and_deserialize_graph is a one-line call to tinyflows::migrate::deserialize_graph (vendor code identical to what was removed, error strings included); the six pure compat tests, the duplicate migration test file and two gate tests are gone. Host tests (inline sub-workflow recursion, resolver/store, the dangling-path binding test) stay.
  • Tool helpers: tools/impl/meta/{collapse,deferred}.rs, tools/impl/system/command_output.rs, agent/tinyagents/tools.rs, agent/harness/required_output.rs and their tests are replaced by tinytools / tinyagents-harness re-exports; json_schema/ops.rs re-exports the harness schema helpers. TOOL_SEARCH_NAME stays in OpenHuman.
  • Splitter: web_chat/presentation.rs takes segment_delay from tinychannels_bus::delivery (a dependency openhuman already has unconditionally, so builds without the channels/voice features are unaffected; cargo check --no-default-features passes). Tests of the private helpers move with the code; the host delivery tests stay. Production always sends a single bubble (let segments = [full_response.to_string()]), so only segment_delay is referenced outside tests.

Vendor pins. Each points at a branch tip on the upstream repo, all fast-forwards of the previous pin:

tinyagents#228 carries an extra commit bumping its nested tinytools and tinyinference gitlinks to the two PR tips, so one pin brings both.

Impact

  • No runtime behaviour change. Product code touched is limited to the dead-code removals and the re-exports that replace the moved helpers.
  • No new dependency edges in openhuman; tinychannels-bus was already a dependency.
  • Removing tests lowers the raw count here; the vendor PRs carry the equivalent or missing cases upstream.

Must land before this is ready for review

This is a draft because it depends on unmerged upstream PRs. The gitlinks point at branch tips; a squash-merge upstream would leave them pointing at commits that may be pruned.

  1. Merge, in order: tinytools#32 and tinyinference#38, then tinyagents#228; and tinyflows#96, tinychannels#40 (independent of the others).
  2. Repoint each gitlink to the merge commit.
  3. Then gh pr ready.

feat(web_chat): segment long agent responses into multiple chat bubbles

Add response segmentation logic that splits long agent replies into multiple chat bubbles for a more natural reading experience. Short messages, code fences, and structured content like lists and tables are kept as single bubbles, while longer prose is split on paragraph or sentence boundaries. The segmentation is bounded to a maximum of five segments, with overflow merged into the final segment rather than being silently dropped, fixing issue tinyhumansai#1041 where long replies were truncated in the UI.

The inline segmentation logic that split agent responses into multiple chat bubbles has been removed and replaced with the `segment_delay` and `segment_for_delivery` functions from the `tinychannels-bus` crate. This eliminates duplicated code and moves the responsibility for response chunking to the shared bus layer, where it is maintained consistently across consumers. The corresponding unit tests and test support re-exports have been deleted as they are no longer needed.
