Document Module - Future Enhancements

Scope

  • hardening and refinement of document store/manager/schema/merge runtime behavior
  • expansion of deterministic reliability under conflict-heavy and schema-transition pressure
  • stricter benchmark-backed guardrails for document serialization and list/read hot paths

Design Constraints

  • document contracts remain backward compatible within major release line.
  • schema/lifecycle and merge semantics remain explicit and deterministic.
  • store and round-trip persistence failures remain bounded and observable.
  • exchange and document-state transitions remain auditable.

Required Interfaces

Interface Requirement
store/manager interfaces deterministic Result-based operation semantics
lifecycle/schema interfaces explicit hook and schema validation contracts
diff/merge interfaces stable conflict-aware merge behavior
exchange/round-trip interfaces bounded XDOMEA and snapshot persistence semantics

Implementation Notes

  • tighten schema/version transition behavior under invalid/missing-field permutations.
  • standardize diagnostics for conflict, not-found, and persistence failure classes.
  • expand resilience tests for merge-heavy and round-trip replay scenarios.
  • introduce dedicated benchmarks for diff/merge and round-trip operations.

Test Strategy

  • unit and integration suites for store, manager, schema, and merge execution paths.
  • regressions for schema sealing, conflict resolution, and round-trip persistence edge cases.
  • deterministic stress runs for document churn and high-conflict workloads.
  • release-profile benchmark runs for mapped document targets.

Performance Targets

  • serialization and list/read hot paths remain within regression budgets.
  • document operation behavior remains stable at p95/p99 envelopes.
  • benchmark manifests for mapped document targets reach no-missing-case status.

Security / Reliability

  • maintain strict schema/lifecycle boundaries for document mutation paths.
  • preserve explicit failure signaling for conflict and persistence errors.
  • enforce bounded round-trip and exchange behavior under pressure.
  • keep diagnostics actionable for production document incidents.
