Maintenance Module - Future Enhancements

Scope

  • hardening and refinement of maintenance schedule orchestration behavior
  • deterministic reliability improvements for persistence and execution control
  • stronger benchmark-backed guardrails for maintenance hot paths

Design Constraints

  • maintenance contracts remain backward compatible within major release line.
  • schedule and execution behavior remains explicit and deterministic.
  • persistence and registry behavior remains bounded and observable.
  • degraded handler or execution modes remain explicit and non-silent.

Required Interfaces

Interface Requirement
schedule interfaces deterministic lifecycle and run control behavior
execution interfaces bounded dispatch and explicit error semantics
persistence interfaces explicit save/load consistency semantics
registry interfaces stable and deterministic default setup behavior

Implementation Notes

  • tighten parity between schedule orchestration and persistence-reload behavior.
  • standardize diagnostics for schedule, persistence, and handler incidents.
  • expand resilience tests for prolonged maintenance runtime operation.
  • broaden benchmark depth for orchestrator-adjacent and distributed maintenance scenarios.

Test Strategy

  • unit and integration suites for schedule and orchestrator behavior.
  • regressions for invalid persistence payloads and handler mismatch states.
  • deterministic stress runs for schedule churn and execution workflows.
  • release-profile benchmark runs for mapped maintenance targets.

Performance Targets

  • scheduler/orchestrator operations remain inside regression budgets.
  • maintenance hot paths remain stable at p95/p99 envelopes.
  • mapped benchmark manifests reach no-missing-case status for release gating.

Security / Reliability

  • maintain strict validation before schedule commit paths.
  • preserve explicit failure signaling for missing handler and persistence faults.
  • enforce bounded execution behavior under malformed input state.
  • keep diagnostics actionable for production maintenance incidents.
